Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology was established in 1978. In 2001 it develops as a higher vocational college in china and In 2008 it becomes one of 100 National Demonstration Colleges.
Now, Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology has 2 campuses, one is Fuyan Mountain Campus and another is Binhai Campus. It has more than 16,000 full-time students. Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology offers 48 majors including textile and garment, machinery, and chemical, construction, biology, applied foreign languages, economic management, information, aquaculture, media arts, automobile. There are 3 national courses, 43 provincial courses, 6 provincial teaching groups in our college. The college achieved many awards including two 2nd prizes of National Teaching Results, 17 Provincial Teaching Awards, 16 National Textile Education Teaching Awards. Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology provides more than 70,000 talents and making great contributions to provincial economic and social development. The colleges have been maintained by “industry-education-research integrated, job-market-oriented cultivation, International and modernized school-running” with its development.
Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology complies with industry education research integrated college running guides. The colleges established the platform for students’ work with over 500 leading enterprises, such as Foton, Lenovo, CRRC Corp, Faw-Volkswagen and Weichai Power. Cyberspace Security College has been established with Inspur Group, GoerTek College has been founded with the GoerTek Group, Lutai College has been complied with Lutai Group, exploring new models for Secondary College. Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology is the first college that starts the Postdoctoral Creative Training Base of higher vocational colleges around the country. And it enlists the postdoctoral scholars with the cooperation of BJTU. The school has built a Shandong Intelligent Manufacturing Training center which helps to fulfill the demand market for skilled talents and improves the integration of talent training, professional construction, scientific research innovation, and industrial development. The college has 4 provincial skill-service platforms, 3 local research platforms, and 11 professional research institutions, applied research and technical service is getting improved. Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology has developed 300 programs of college-enterprise cooperation and technical service and received around 10 million Yuan as allowances in recent 3 years. The college has taken part in 3 National Spark Science & Technology Projects, 157 department-level science research projects, 9 Key Provincial Projects for Upgrading Technology and Technical Innovation, 1 Two-Region Construction Project of Shandong, and 2 provincial training projects. Besides, Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology has won 195 awards for department-level and 9 progression awards of Weifang. The college has become the core of Science and Technology development and technical service of minor projects in Weifang as well as surrounding areas and has been conferred the Forward Unit for helping minor projects by Weifang City.
Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology has 17 training centers for urgent talents and skilled workers. And these training centers provides 20 thousand talents every year in various field. Its try to develop students as the demand for job-market-oriented cultivation. The teachers study about the demand for talents every year, to analyze and change it every next 3 years so that they can make productive goals for students. The teaching contents are connected with occupational standards and practice. The curriculum and school books are developed with the cooperation of enterprises, based on the professional standard. Now, Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology have 42 courses, which are cooperated with enterprises, and 390 college-based teaching books. 3 modern instruction pilot projects of Shandong Province are carried out, becoming one of the first pilot project units of the Education Department.
The action-oriented curriculum reform began in 2014. More than 600 courses have been improved and the method of teaching and learning has been upgraded by information technology. It attaches modernization and entrepreneurial ability to great importance. Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology has made the college into Five-in-one talent-training system and established innovation and entrepreneurial base for students. The school gives the grantee for students to apply for a national license from 2008. Total 3985 imprints have been applied for licenses, 708 of them are for invention, and 421 got licenses among them.
Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology focuses on quality and moral of the education to enhance students’ talents, social responsibilities. The voluntary service becomes the characteristic of our college since 3000 students went to be volunteers in the Beijing Olympics, together with other activities such as the 60th Anniversary of National Day Ceremony, National Athletic Meet, and Shanghai Expo. Physical education is an important part also, It also has excellent achievements in this field. Men’s basketball team achieved the last 8 champions award of Group B in the CUBA Games, and women’s basketball team won four champions awards and won second place in the 6th national basketball championship. In college, men’s volleyball team won 2 champions of the Shandong league, the football team won 2nd place and won the championship in 2016. The men’s team win 32 gold, 13 silver, and 13 bronze medal in 9 championships for undergraduates, and being the top of national higher vocational colleges. The lion dancing team and martial art team of Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology were invited to perform in Germany.
